At least once a month we have spent one day out of our weekend piling high our sale goodies at a London pub jumble. With the onset of summer we have decided to call it a day until Autumn as to be honest who wants to spend a sunny Saturday inside a dark 'n' dingy East end pub? Saturday's Jumble at the Amersham Arms was officially our last of the season and we celebrated with tasty treats supplied by the Great Cake Escape and Sam hopped on the decks to play his selection of upbeat music, drenched in bygone charm which included burlesque, barrelhouse blues, mambo, boogie woogie, crime jazz, exotica, girl group, skiffle, soda shop pop, 50's & 60's garage, rhythm and blues, big band, doo wop and of course rock and roll in all its forms. He rocked.
My favourite stall was run by Italian stylist Giorgia Musci who was selling a super cute selection of unwanted stuff from her wardrobe including garments and knick knacks featuring most Disney characters. Her fave find of the day was an amazing seaside stripe ice skating all-in-one number. If only. She's just about to leave New Cross for New York to attend a 3 month internship with a trend spotting agency. I don't think she'll miss the Amersham Arms that much, it was dismally quiet in the upstairs room.
But Jessica Poole and Anna Nunhoter, both art gallery assistants, kept their spirits up by knitting with ribbon which created a delightful effect. They were selling a random selection of their very own things in an attempt to de-clutter their life. Which reminded me why I was there and I was under no circumstances to buy anything! Not even the Snoopy ornament or the Mickey Mouse print anorak. Pah!
The girls who visited our stand were treated to a limited edition charm bracelet made from all the Mini charms! If you fancy one of these then we have put the remaining few in the Rainbow Rebel Lucky Dips but you better be quick!
Wow! I have just discovered you via 'Mrs bears website' and i would love to know about any future events that you might be doing, i love your cool Vintage tea parties and jumble sales! also do you have a mailing list?
Kind regards Sandy.
