We spent a sunny weekend selling our wares at the We Make London Spring Art and Design Fair in pretty Stoke Newington. To celebrate my favourite season I set out the jewellery in the style of a picnic tea party! I picked up a cute little wicker hamper from a flea market last week and decorated it with red gingham bows which matched the tablecloth. Twee? Who me? I then displayed all of our handmade jewels on cut glass and porcelain cake stands and heart shaped doillies.
The flocked Tea Cozy Teapot brooches and necklaces were super popular. I made some in red and pink too which all sold out so I'll make some for the website next week!
It was lovely to see lots of our regular customers and there were a great bunch of stalls to buy handmade stuff from. I managed to nip out from the stand and pick up a cupcake shaped egg cozy handmade from lambswool by Sara Carr - photo above. Who doesn't need a cupcake shaped egg cozy?
I also met the lovely Sanna from Sanna Panda and her website launches very soon - you should definitely check it out! I'm popping along to her knitting club tonight to try to start AND finish some fun little knitting projects.
This looks really good, but I went along to Jumble Monthly - you weren't there! I was really disappointed there was no Lady Luck there, especially as I'd travelled right across London! Would have been really nice to stock up on some new stuff :) Oh well
Ahh Verena! I'm so sorry! The Jumble Monthly organiser texted us at 8pm the night before the sale to tell us the venue had double booked the top floor where our stand was supposed to be. We didn't have have internet access for the evening so couldn't blog about it in time... hope you managed to pick up a cupcake or two from the Great Cake Escape stand!
