We’ve just received the new issue of Nude magazine which is produced and edited by Suzy Prince (of Last Chance Saloon fame) and her beau Ian Lowey. The duo make it their mission to champion independent fashion, music, art and film producing over 100 pages of counter cultural goodness. Summer’s cover star is New York doll Molly Crabapple who is “the globe-trotting-model-turned-artist” who founded Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School in 2005. The part cabaret, part art class now takes place in over 60 cities including London. This issue also includes our all new Go-Go Glitter advert featuring the beautiful Caity (our 1930s tea shoppe waitress) and an amazing hair piece made by Tomoko Kinoshita. I've already received a few e-mails asking if we sell the green bird hairclip, well it's not actually a hairclip! It's a piece I picked up from the best trimmings store in London - Barnett Lawson. If you like to delve into treasure troves and discover sparkly things then you should hop out at Oxford Circus tube, skip straight past Topshop and down into the basement of this Haberdashery heaven.
I was also delighted to read all about the wonderful world of dutch tattooist and painter Angelique Houtkamp. Her style pays homage to a delightful mixture of bygone eras including victoriana, the roaring 20s, Weimer decadence and 40s film star glamour. And that's why I love Nude 'zine so much because each issue is like a voyage of discovery not like the normal celebrity twaddle. I now have a fantastic list of authentic American Diners I can visit in the UK! Result.
