Aptly named shopping event, Made In The Shade (a slang phrase, popular in the 1950s and synonymous with guaranteed success) launched in Glasgow in May 2008.
Bringing the crème of the country’s creative crop together, Made In The Shade serves to provide a fun and innovative platform from which to promote the delights of neo-craft, quirky design and vintage lifestyle. Made In The Shade supports fresh design talent and backs the work of independent businesses - all the while encouraging customers to relish in the exclusivity of the handmade and vintage one-off.
Made In The Shade is brought to you each season by a talented team of volunteers who work hard to ensure that each event is managed effectively and managed with style! Carrie Maclennan, Clare Nicolson, Suzanne Smith and Jo Gurney always put their respective expertise to good use. Each gal takes care of their own little niche in the organisation of Made In The Shade. It’s keeps ‘em out of trouble!
We are VERY excited to be joining the super list of regular vendors in September and we hope to be launching a brand new collection of handmade goodies!

The LIghthouse has had some problems recently, but the Made in the Shade girls have worked extra hard to make sure this event is definititely going ahead as planned.
They've confirmed over 40 designers and makers will be there for a fun-filled day of shopping and music!
