We've just closed the doors to our first ever Superette Saturday Street Sale and I'm exhausted! We arrived at the shop at 8am this morning to ice the cakes we'd made at home last night, set up the tables and rails and hang the bunting! Our first customer was a sweet guy on his way to work and he bought both of Sam's Lynch paintings and my roller girl print. It then went crazy! Crowds of thrift lovin' ladies all arrived at once and our rummage boxes were cleared out in double quick time.
Whilst Penni and I bagged up everyone's purchases our lovely new intern Joanne offered around cups of tea and cake! In between the rushes we managed to snag a cupcake too, yum yum.
We were lucky to get a sunny day with beautiful blue skies and it was really lovely to see so many old faces! Suzy and Ian from Nude came along with their teeny tiny 6 week old baby Astrid. We caught up with a bunch of Lady Luck's past interns - Hannah, Leah, Ann, Julie, Heather - great to see all of you! And super to see lots of girls and guys we met at Loud Tate last month. Plus lots of familiar faces from past LLROK events - it's always so nice to see you girls! I hope you managed to get everything home OK, some girls literally had bin bags full of goodies.
Superette's dear friend Betsy and her Mum came along to sell stuff too! They had the tables and rail on the end and their vintage finds were snapped up a plenty. I think we'll make the sale a bi-annual event so maybe we'll do it all again around Spring time 2009.
But back to 2008 and we've got a new collection to launch...soon...very soon. I promise!
Thanks Leona - we had a super time and got some fab bargains too! And thanks to the lovely lady who made our tea and coffee after our crazy hour of rummaging! It was much appreciated. It would be great if it was a bi-annual thing. We're already saving for the next one xxx
Woop woop, there I am with my strawberry shopping bag stuffed full of charms, necklaces, iron on transfers, ring boxes, beads, sunglasses and glue gun sticks!!! Thanks Leona for making my day, can't wait for the next sale!
Lots of love, Annie xxx
thanks for the fab stuff and the tasty cake :) my family and friend were loving it and it was worth the long train ride alone! hope you have another one x
I arrived with my friends at around 1 and didn't think there was much going on, or much left to buy. I am assuming you had to turn up really early for the good stuff? x
Hey Robyn - You're right - a lot of great pieces were snapped up early on. We had a real rush for the first couple of hours, after which it calmed down to a more sane level. But we kept selling and serving cake to happy customers all afternoon. It depends what you're looking for, but there were definitely some real bargains there all day - those who delved in and rummaged were certainly rewarded for their efforts!
I'm super happy all you other ladies had a great day, we're definitely looking to do another one in April 2009! Yay!

me and my family had a great day out- even my dad managed to buy something (a stash of iron on transfers)!
i also got a load of iron on transfers for a 1 quid, loads of glitter and possibly the whole collection of parrots necklaces u was selling lol
I also got a jewellery stand!
Leona one thing i would like to know is with the heat transfers did u use a t-shirt press and at what temperature did u use it?
i have a t-shirt press at home and i just need to know what temperature to heat the transfers so that i can make myself some one of a kind t-shirts with an i love the osmonds on!!!!!
I was here :)
Got loots of goodies
Including a plastic deer head :O It just called to me
Thinking of spraying it or papier mâché-ing it :)
Hey Laura,
Y'know it's been over 2 years since I heat pressed any of those transfers, eek. I really can't remember exactly SO I would cut one up the transfers to use as a tester on a scrap of cotton. I'd start at 140 degrees and try different lengths of time and then go up or down with the heat depending on the results. You should also google vintage transfers to find out some info. The ones you purchased from me are 1970s plastisol transfers.
Good luck!
